Do you need to block annoying chatter in your office? Check out our review of ChatterBlocker software.
We were psyched when the folks at ChatterBlocker contacted us about doing a review of their anti-chatter software. There's been a coworker at the office that wont shut the hell up and who play's ridiculous music quite loudly. After awhile it was enough! Armed with a fresh installation of ChatterBlocker, we were about to put the software to the test. Could it block the mutant coworker from hell or would it sadly fail? Read on. my friend. The ChatterBlocker software has two modes - Easy and Advanced. Easy mode let's you pick from presets (you can save your own presets) and advanced mode allows you to pick from many different sounds that will combine to make up the audio that is played. We mainly used the presets since they were already formulated to block chatter well. ChatterBlocker over laptop speakers wasn't enough to block the coworker because of close proximity, so we had to put on the trusty ole headphones. Once ChatterBlocker was started, it was instant gratification. The sounds of the office were merely a dull roar. It was like being transported to a tropical place. That day, CubeSlacker did more work than ever before. ChatterBlocker doesn't claim to be noise cancelling software. It instead uses sounds to blur background chatter. We found it better than listening to music because music has soft parts that you can hear the coworkers over. The ChatterBlocker clips played at a pretty even level throughout keeping the external chatter sounds at a constant minimum. Overall it was good stuff. Give it a try - there is a free demo version on their site, ChatterBlocker.com
